Bailey Graunke, Music Therapy Intern

Music Therapy Intern

Bailey is a music therapy intern at Dynamic Music Therapy. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a focus in Percussion Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts and completed music therapy training and clinical coursework at Illinois State University.

Bailey has clinical experience working with adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental conditions, including PTSD, autism, anxiety, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, and conduct disorder. She has also worked with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, older adults experiencing various forms of dementia and Parkinson’s disease, and adults receiving support and care at the OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute in Peoria, Illinois.

Bailey uses a person-centered, strengths-based approach and values building meaningful therapeutic relationships with the people she serves. She strives to meet clients where they are and creates a safe, supportive environment where they can authentically be themselves. Bailey incorporates techniques such as improvisation, songwriting, music listening, and instrument play to support clients in working toward their individualized therapeutic goals.

As a percussionist, Bailey has experience performing on a wide range of instruments, including four-mallet marimba, hand and African drumming, and various orchestral and word percussion instruments. She also enjoys accompanying and facilitating music experiences using guitar, ukulele, and piano.

Outside of music therapy, Bailey enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, riding horses, baking, performing percussion, and spending time with her one-eyed tuxedo cat, Ebony, and her dog, Finn.
