Group Offerings and Upcoming Events

Explore our current group offerings designed to support connection, creativity, and growth through music. Groups are strengths-based, inclusive, and open to individuals of all abilities and backgrounds.

  • This is an 6-week series that runs from June 1st - July 6th, 2026.

    Location: Lakeland Family Resource Center (819 Ash St, Spooner, WI 54801)

    Schedule: Mondays from 3:00-4:00pm

    Caregivers are encouraged to participate in this group alongside their child.

    This group is designed to support young children in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and communication in a fun, structured, and inclusive music therapy environment. Through interactive music experiences, children practice social interactions while strengthening connections with caregivers and peers.

    Each session incorporates instrument play, movement, collaborative music-making, music-based games, and creative-self expression to support growth in key areas, including:

    • Understanding and managing emotions

    • Communicating feelings and needs effectively

    • Cooperation, turn taking, and teamwork

    • Building confidence in social interactions

    Our music therapy approach meets each child where they are, highlighting their strengths while providing structured guidance and opportunities to practice new skills. This group is open to children of all abilities and neurotypes. No musical background is required.

  • This is an 6-week series that runs from July 13th - August 17th, 2026.

    Location: Lakeland Family Resource Center (819 Ash St, Spooner, WI 54801)

    • Effective communication and expressing feelings to peers

    • Empathy and perspective-taking

    • Cooperation, teamwork, and problem solving

    • Leadership and confidence in group activities

    • Navigating social cues and conversational skills

    • Building and maintaining friendships

    Our music therapy approach meets each child where they are, highlighting their strengths while providing structured guidance and opportunities to practice new skills. This group is open to children of all abilities and neurotypes. No musical background is required.

  • Ages 5-8 from 9:00-10:00am

    Ages 9-12 from 10:00am-11:00am

    This is a 6-week series that runs on Tuesdays from June 16th to July 21st, 2026.

    Location: Happy Hive Indoor Play (810 WI-35, Luck, WI 54853)

    Buzz & Bloom groups offer a unique combination of sensory-friendly play and music therapy designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and social connection. Participants will have the option for an hour of free play in Happy Hive’s indoor play area before or after their music therapy group.

    During music therapy, participants explore a variety of engaging activities that foster social-emotional growth, including:

    • Experimenting with instruments and sound to explore feelings

    • Group improvisation to practice teamwork and cooperation

    • Movement and rhythm activities to support self-regulation

    • Music-based games that encourage communication and turn-taking

    • Peer connection through collaborative music-making

    • Building confidence and resilience in a supportive group

    Our music therapy approach celebrates each child’s strengths while providing guidance and opportunities to practice new skills in a fun, inclusive environment. This group is open to children of all abilities and neurotypes. No musical background is required.

  • This is a 4-week virtual series that runs from June 3rd - June 24th, 2026.

    Location: Online (link provided upon registration)

    Schedule: Wednesdays from 1:00-1:45pm

    Lyric Lab is a fun, approachable virtual space where tweens explore songwriting in a supportive environment. Participants engage in the creative process with support from a Board Certified Music Therapist to turn their ideas, feelings, and stories into lyrics and collaborative music projects. The group is designed to make songwriting easy, enjoyable, and social, helping participants build confidence and connect with peers in a supportive setting.

    In Lyric Lab, participants will:

    • Experiment with lyrics in a playful way

    • Collaborate with peers in virtual group music making

    • Share ideas, listen, and give feedback in a friendly, supportive environment

    • Explore music as a tool for expressing emotions and stories

    • Practice social skills like turn taking, communication, and teamwork

    • Build confidence and self-expression through creative projects

    Our music therapy approach is flexible and participant-driven, meeting each child where they are while offering guidance and support for social, emotional, and creative growth. No prior musical experience required!
