Board Certified Music Therapist, Founder and Director of Services
Tatum has been practicing as a board certified music therapist since May of 2020 and founded Dynamic Music Therapy in 2023. She grew up in western Wisconsin and is delighted to have the opportunity to bring music therapy services to an area that was instrumental in her journey to music therapy.
Tatum attended Augsburg University where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology. She interned with Allina Home Health and Hospice, working with adults in hospice care, to complete her required 1,200 hours of clinical training. As part of this experience, Tatum worked alongside music therapists from China, Taiwan, and the United States. She has worked in a variety of settings that provided her with clinical and administrative skills, from working as a substitute preschool teacher to serving as an Activity Director in memory care, assisted living, and post-acute care in Lakewood, Colorado.
Tatum has worked with individuals ranging in age from one to over one hundred. She has supported clients with various diagnoses including dementia/Alzheimer’s disease, Down syndrome, attention deficit disorders, Autism, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, mental health diagnoses, learning and intellectual disabilities, and genetic disorders.
In addition to being a board certified music therapist, Tatum is also certified in Using Music in Mental Health Recovery through Get In Tune Music Therapy. Tatum is also a member of the Wisconsin Chapter of Music Therapy and serves as the Events Chair for the chapter.
Outside of the therapeutic space, Tatum enjoys camping, playing music with friends and families, attending concerts, cooking, and gardening.
